About the role
This role is seeking a Support Worker to work with Jenny, a 17-year-old female with a diagnosis of Autism, dyspraxia, PTSD, and Epilepsy. She currently lives in her family home with her parents in Fleet and is supported on a 2:1 support ratio during the day, and 1:1 during the night.
We are looking for team members to support Jenny initially over the next 6 months, both in and outside of the family home. You will need to have a minimum of two years’ experience in supporting individuals who have a mental health illness, autism, and epilepsy, and be empathetic, patient, and resilient in your approach. Team members will need to be experienced in supporting individuals who can present with behaviours that can challenge and that can't always be predicted.
Jenny loves to take part in activities that she enjoys and also be given the opportunity to try new things. She would like team members who enjoy outdoor activities and who are energetic and active, but also a calming influence. Jenny especially enjoys rowing and fresh cold-water swimming; therefore, you must be able to swim.
Jenny is very creative and enjoys spending her time being artistic with a mixture of activities, e.g., drawing, painting, making items, and building Lego. She has an arts and crafts room in her home, where she will spend time with her team members and also by herself.
Jenny really wants to feel valued and supported by her team and be given the chance to develop trusting relationships.
If you feel you could make a difference in Jenny's life and have experience and skills, please apply today!
