Teaching Assistant – Specialist School in Hythe
A small, specialist school in Hythe is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role presents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with trauma-related behaviours and additional needs.
Responsibilities:
* Providing tailored support to students with trauma-related behaviours and special educational needs.
* Collaborating with teachers and support staff to foster a safe and engaging learning environment.
* Assisting in the adaptation of learning materials and teaching strategies to meet individual student requirements.
* Supporting students in developing resilience, confidence, and positive relationships.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge or experience of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within education or care settings.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
* Prior experience working within a school setting is advantageous; however, candidates with transferable skills and relevant personal experience will also be considered.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside staff, parents, and external professionals.
* Due to the school’s location, a driving licence or close proximity to the area is preferable.
The position will initially be offered through Teaching Personnel, with the successful candidate transitioning to a permanent contract with the school following the completion of a probationary period.
