Join a high performing team within a highly specialised technology department which focuses on delivery and transformation About the Role: The Pearson Core Platforms team is seeking a Project Manager to manage the delivery of key strategic projects of one of our critical platforms, with a focus on being instrumental in the software development life cycle (SDLC), tracking the forecasted and actual budget, business case creation and tracking, facilitating the on-boarding of internal and external resources and stakeholder management through building relationships across numerous functions within Pearson and with outsourced third parties. The right person will be a high-performing, hands-on Project Manager experienced in technology and business enterprise transformation projects. This is a unique opportunity to assist the Program Management to help us build something that will directly enhance the lives of millions, by supporting the provision of education on a global scale. Key Accountabilities: Take ownership of assigned projects for successful delivery Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to a governance framework. Support the delivery of the weekly project and monthly program updates Deliver comprehensive status reporting for the program. Support accurate financial and budget management across all projects, including invoice payments, Statement of Work review and approval, Financial Tracker management. Support teams to manage dependencies with other programs and platforms, supporting stakeholders through various engagements to ensure that there is clarity around dependencies. Work to reduce and/or remove barriers to progress. This includes collaboration with technical teams, the internal team, local business groups and broader projects teams. Collaborate with key program and project managers, to ensure the program delivers to key milestones and financial commitments Manage full end-to-end lifecycle for own projects using Agile SCRUM methodology Key Challenges: Working in a matrixed, geographically distributed and virtual environment Keeping up with a constantly changing and increasingly digital world Understanding how to effectively engage multiple internal stakeholders Working with a global customer base that represents many different cultures Managing stakeholders who are resource constrained and working in new business models About You: Essential Qualifications: Excellent organization skills, with a background in technology Experience in Agile SCRUM project delivery and SDLC delivery Flexible and changes approach as and when required Strong team building capability and wide networking and relationship building skills Ability to prioritise and self-manage and Strong facilitation skills Willing to assist in a variety of unrelated tasks necessary to ensure a large teams’ smooth operation.
