Ackerman Pierce is currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join the Mental Health Team based in Colindale. You will be delivering high-quality social work services to adults in line with the Care Act 2014 and Barnet's local policies. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of safeguarding principles, as well as experience in assessments, care planning, and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional social work assessments and support to adults and their carers.
Safeguard vulnerable adults by following Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
Develop and review individualised, outcomes-focused care plans.
Promote health, independence, and resilience through access to quality information and preventative services.
Supervise and support junior staff members when appropriate.
Conduct Mental Capacity Act assessments, supporting adults in decision-making.
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, including hospital trusts, ICBs, and voluntary services.
Promote the use of direct payments and support clients in navigating financial assessments.
Manage caseloads and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Chair and participate in meetings with clients, families, and other professionals.Requirements:
Essential: Registered with Social Work England.
Experience in safeguarding vulnerable adults and providing high-quality assessments.
Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to promote independence and personalise care plans based on clients' needs.
Competency in using case management systems.Desirable:
Experience as a Best Interest Assessor.
Specialist knowledge within the mental health field.Values:
