Service Care Solutions are working alongside a national law firm with a long standing reputation which is need of a Mental Health lawyer to join one of their offices in the West Midlands. If you are a dedicated lawyer with expertise in mental health law and Court of Protection matters, this could be the role for you!
Position: Mental Health lawyer
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £40,000 to £60,000
Key Responsibilities of the Mental Health lawyer:
1. Provide legal advice and representation in matters relating to mental health for vulnerable individuals
2. Handle Court of Protection cases, including applications regarding health and welfare matters.
3. Attend tribunals, hearings, and court proceedings, representing clients in Mental Health Tribunals and Court of Protection cases.
About You:
4. Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with significant experience in mental health law and Court of Protection work.
5. Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant case law.
6. Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and compassion.
7. Accreditation as a member of the Law Society's Mental Health Accreditation Scheme (or working towards it) is highly desirable.
