The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing and experiences. Our team is looking for an experienced VP - International Brand Planning & Insights to ensure our brand strategy and insights are integrated into our enterprise and market partners' strategic plans. Responsibilities include: - Develop and implement strategic vision, partnering with markets on specific brand marketing plans and ensuring our brand strategy is integrated across the enterprise to drive consideration - Be the central point of contact for key GABM relationships with senior ICS and Market leaders and who best understands: the global brand strategy, individual market audience nuances, market specific business priorities and annual global brand marketing approach, - Create holistic brand plans that connect strategic brand priorities through to local market marketing activations; design strategic briefs for Brand campaigns (i.e.TV) and collaborate with local market partners to enable through the line activation ( i.e. email, landing pages, experiential activations ) to deliver a holistic audience experience of the Amex Brand - Lead team responsible for setting and delivering the international insights and research roadmap and learning agenda to support product and marketing priorities (i.e. product refreshes, messaging strategy) - Elevate insights tools, analytics and resources to support strategic recommendations, fueling innovation and future proofing the brand and business. - Lead and coach a team of high performing brand marketing strategists and insights professionals (3 direct reports, 6 colleagues total). Qualifications: - Brand marketing and performance marketing experience across B2C and B2B - Highly motivated self-starter who can provide strategic thought leadership, drive clarity in ambiguous situations and make connections on key strategic priorities across lines of business. - Proactive and assertive leader with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through collaboration with senior leaders, business partners and external agencies. - Strong business acumen to identify key business strategies across the markets and make global connections - Ability to leverage insights to influence and develop strategy to drive business outcomes. - Strong communicator who can effectively influence and prioritize as business needs evolve with a high degree of comfort amongst senior leaders. - Ability to build strong relationships and influence across senior level and work effectively in a collaborative, multi-cultural, team environment. - Proven ability to lead a high performing team, and drive meaningful career growth for team members through 'leader as coach'. - Experience in leveraging insights to inform strategic priorities - Experience executing highly integrated ATL (Above the Line) activity and driving scale across international markets considered an advantage.
