Job Title: Design Technician Location: Leeds Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 per annum Bonus (negotiated on experience) Hours of work: 8.00am 5.00pm Monday Friday (flexible to circumstances) The Company: My client is a division within a well-established, market leading product design and manufacturing business supplying structural building products to the construction industry for over 30 years. The Faades division is currently developing a range of cladding products, includingscreen faade external envelope of a building or structure. The role as Design Technician requires the candidate to work with the Engineering Manager and R&D Team in the design and detailing of faade products. You will be welcomed into a friendly and supportive team, which is happy to offer further training and qualifications where required. You will be given full training upon joining the company and on-going support. The Role: The Design Technician will be required to produce detailed designs and drawings to communicate the design intent with architects, engineers and other key members of a building design team. As part of the project team the candidate will be involved in the formulation and implementation of a design and detailing process supported by software to automate and embed the design within the existing design teams and business systems. This process will include aspects of both product design and design for manufacture. The product design outputs will be used throughout the product realisation process which will include design for manufacture right through to site installation. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes: Design and detailing of construction products, faades engineering, light steel framing, structural framing systems or other relevant experience. Architectural or structural design experience. Brickwork | Cladding Products | Faades | Rain Screen | SFS | Steel Framing. An organised and structured approach to work and an attention to detail. A knowledge of building technology. Design software, including: Auto CAD and any experience of SolidWorks | Inventor | Tekla | Revit desirable. Microsoft Office Suite, including: Project | Excel | Work | Outlook. Manufacturing, in particular sheet metal and fabrication. Suitable for candidates with any of the following experience: Architectural Technician | Design Draftsperson | Technical Engineering | Faade Engineering | CAD Technician Product Design | CAD Engineer | Structural Technician | CAD Engineer | Drawing Office WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
