Business Development Manager - Energy Sector
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE) + Uncapped OTE (£50K+ Year 1, £75K+ Year 2)

Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting:
1. Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities via outbound calling, email outreach, and LinkedIn networking.
2. Utilise the existing database while also self-sourcing new contacts to build a robust sales pipeline.
Market Mapping & Strategy:
1. Identify target industries, specifically large-scale and SME manufacturing businesses, while understanding their energy needs.
2. Follow strategic sales processes, ensuring a structured approach to prospecting and business development.
Appointment Setting & Solution Selling:
1. Engage with decision-makers to qualify leads and book high-quality meetings across the UK for the Sales Director.
2. Develop a strong understanding of the company's energy solutions to effectively pitch and position tailored offerings.
Relationship Building & Networking:
1. Build and nurture long-term relationships with potential clients, fostering trust and credibility.
2. Leverage LinkedIn to make meaningful connections and engage prospects through relevant content and outreach.
Account Management & Retention:
1. Retain and manage accounts you've developed, securing residual revenue over the lifetime of the contract.
Performance & Target Achievement:
1. Consistently achieve and exceed new business targets, contributing to the company's growth trajectory.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience:
1. 2+ years of experience in a Business Development, Sales, or Telesales role, ideally within the energy sector or solution sales environment.
2. Proven track record of generating new business through outbound calling and digital outreach.
Skills & Attributes:
1. High work rate, resilience, and hunger to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment.
2. Strong ability to cold call and overcome objections with confidence and professionalism.
3. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
4. Ability to follow structured sales strategies while maintaining a creative approach to lead generation.
Tech-Savvy:
1. Proficiency in using CRM systems and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to manage pipelines and track activity.
