Senior Mental Health Practitioner/SUN Facilitator - Erlegh House, University of Reading, RG6 6BZ.
Band 6 positions available, with opportunities for Band 7 development.
Permanent, full and part-time options available.
Through co-production, Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust has developed a comprehensive care pathway for individuals who may have difficulties associated with a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). The SUN (Service User Network) service is a new component of the pathway and is based on a national model for SUN.
We are now seeking enthusiastic professionals to appoint to key clinical roles for the SUN Service within Berkshire. You will actively support the delivery and ongoing development of this exciting new service. The successful candidates will co-facilitate groups with other Core Professional Facilitators and Lived Experience Facilitators. We have a combination of online and face-to-face groups. Groups are now delivered across various sites in Berkshire, and the successful candidate will be expected to travel to different community venues across the county as well as working regularly from our base in Reading. Some home working may be possible for online groups.
Main duties of the job
SUN is exclusively a group network aimed at providing ongoing support for SUN members through attending groups as and when they feel they need support. The main duties of this role are to co-facilitate regular SUN groups and to contribute to the development and promotion of the SUN service.
The SUN Team sits within IMPACTT (Personality Disorder Pathway Services), and line management is provided by the SUN Team Manager. The SUN Team of facilitators has specific SUN facilitation training provided at commencement with the service and will attend mandatory weekly group supervision, training, and implementation and reflective practice sessions.
There may be opportunities to assist in the delivery of other aspects of the EUPD pathway, including the Managing Emotions Programme.
Additionally, there will be opportunities to develop into a band 7 role, which will include further responsibilities such as supervising junior staff, delivering training, and deputising for the service manager as required. Service growth and development will also be at the forefront, and the post holder will be expected to attend networking events and work with both internal and external agencies to support this. Please see job description for further information.
This post will involve travel across all localities in Berkshire. Use of a car for work is preferable.
