About the opportunity

Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Leading clinics and providing specialist care and advice to all patients.
2. Testing eyes using the latest technology while maintaining outstanding patient care.
3. Delivering enhanced services depending on the store needs.
4. Responding to emergency triages.
5. Working with external healthcare professionals.
6. Providing clinical support to team members on the shop floor.
7. Providing advice to patients using your clinical knowledge.
8. Keeping up to date with the latest clinical practices.
9. Working closely with senior stakeholders.
What you’ll need to have
The essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role:
1. GOC registered (or expecting to be in the next 6 months).
2. Additional registration with the relevant NHS body.
3. Drive to deliver excellent patient care.
4. Excellent communication and organization skills.

Need To Know
Optometrists - we are very excited to be recruiting for 2 full-time optometrists working 5 days over seven to include 2 weekends a month at our fantastic and busy flagship practice at Boots Opticians in Barnstaple. Barnstaple Opticians is a busy standalone practice based on the main high street and is brilliant for shopping, eating, and socializing. The practice is a 2-minute walk to a coach and bus station, and only a 5-minute walk to our train station. We have many car parks all within 2-10 minute walking distance. Our patient demographic is 40-70 years old, but recently we have seen an increase in 20-30 years old.
You will join our amazing team of 10, which includes 1 Resident Optometrist and 1 Contact lenses optometrist. We have 3 testing rooms, benefiting from brilliant equipment like the OCT, Phoropter, and Optomap to support us in our journey to provide the best service to our customers and patients.
