Our Reparation service is made up of a team of staff and volunteers, working with young people aged between 10-18 years. We are currently recruiting for Sessional Workers to support our team and the young people whom we work with, based in the Cambridge area. It is a rewarding role, working flexible hours on a part time basis. Job Role To work with young offenders who have received reparation hours as part of the restorative justice system, delivering reparation programmes that meet the needs of the young offenders and victims and provide a positive community experience. Working in this role is an opportunity to use your skills and experience to change the way young people think about their past, and their future. The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate their passion and enthusiasm for motivating young people, working as part of a team, and improving their local community spaces and services. Skills and experience Experience of working with young people particularly those who may exhibit poor behaviour. Experienced in group work or structured activities Able to deliver and support practical projects, for example gardening and painting Due to the requirements of the role, you should also have access to a car with business insurance as you will be transporting young people The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate their passion and enthusiasm for motivating young people, working as part of a team, and improving their local community spaces and services In accordance with safer recruitment processes many of the roles we recruit for require successful candidates to undertake an appropriate criminal record background check. Days and hours The work is mainly be delivered at weekends, but flexibility will be important to meeting young people’s needs – so some mid-week work is available.
