What's involved with this role: Interim Highway Construction Site Supervisors /Clerk of Works Reference no: Bristol 5264958 Pay Rate: £31.81 per hour PAYE 37 Monday - Friday,08:00 - 16:00 This opening assignment is for 8 months City: Bristol We require a highway construction site supervisor / clerk of works who have experience of working under NEC4 Engineering Construction Contract Option B contracts and/or experience of acting as NEC4 Project Manager. The position will require daily supervision and contract management of multiple small highways contracts within the City Council boundary. Key duties: Manage and deliver complex construction projects, ensuring alignment with project briefs and design team requirements, often in urban environments. Conduct initial, interim, and final surveys and investigations, ensuring accurate project data. Complete designs, calculations, specifications, plans, reports, and bills of quantities using CAD and other specialist software. Perform site visits to ensure contractors adhere to specifications, safety standards, and project timelines, reporting any concerns. Prepare and issue statutory notices, liaise with statutory undertakers and departments, and manage financial and contract aspects of projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery. Key requirements: Hold a current CSCS card and be either SSSTS or SMSTS qualified Driving Licence - should have their own vehicle. Knowledge and experience of current construction related Health & Safety and Construction Design and Management regulations including the ability to act as Principal Designer. Knowledge and understanding of the management of AutoCAD Experience in negotiating with Statutory Undertakers, Contractors and other stakeholders to ensure the cost effective delivery of projects. Able to demonstrate project management skills in leading and supervising a project team and to work effectively within a wider multi-disciplinary team.
