As part of our commitment to innovation and development, we are looking for an experienced Demand Planner to join our forward-thinking team. The purpose of the Demand Planner role is to create a volume and value forecast for a 24 month rolling horizon for a set of SKUs / brands / markets. This includes monthly forecasting to support the Sales & Operations Process (S&OP); alignment with key stakeholders at the monthly Demand Review Meeting (DRM); weekly forecasting to support the Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) processes; a daily / weekly allocations process to support customer supply execution. Responsibilities will include… - Responsible for translating commercial plans, marketing plans and sales history analysis into an unconstrained future demand plan, to drive supply planning processes. - Responsible for leading demand planning for a set of SKUs / brands / markets. - Responsible for pricing for SKUs, building and leading the business gross revenue forecast within the annual budgeting / reforecasting process. - Responsible for leading monthly reviews with sales and marketing, key strategic customer supply teams and the internal customer supply team to drive performance and identify market intelligence to modify forecasts e.g. promotions, new product introduction, distribution changes, SKU switching, demand cannibalisation / halo from competitor activities. - Identify key underpinning assumptions, for review and approval at the monthly DRM meeting. - Responsible for the Demand Review step of the S&OP process. - Supports the facilitation of the monthly DRM meeting. - Presents demand plans to stakeholders for SKUs / brands / markets for sign-off at the DRM meeting, with underlying rationale. - Presents demand scenarios where appropriate, as part of a broader risk / opportunity overview, with underpinning assumptions. - Responsible for weekly forecasts in the first 3 months to support S&OE execution processes. - Responsible for demand allocation processes in the event of limited supply to ensure customer service priorities are met. - Communicates risks and opportunities in demand. - Ensures any demand constraints do not suppress future demand forecasts. - Collaborates with marketing and commercial teams to ensure product lifecycle changes are reflected in forecasts e.g. new product launches, product discontinuation, distribution changes, SKU supersession etc. - Collaborates with supply planners to ensure product launch and discontinuation phases are managed effectively. - Identifies changes in demand for slow moving and obsolete SKUs. Attends the monthly SLOB meeting within the S&OP cycle. - Provides monthly Demand Planning KPIs for the Supply Chain Performance Overview. - Shares relevant demand KPIs with Commercial and Finance stakeholders, with appropriate narrative. - Analyses forecast deviations, with corrective action plans to improve forecast completeness, bias and accuracy. - Identifies systems development and reporting opportunities for internal Supply Chain Planning and ERP tools, and customer extranet tools. You will have… - Experience of building a forecast using statistical forecasting techniques with market intelligence overlay. - Experience of working with dedicated forecasting tools. - At least 3 years of relevant experience in a FMCG or similar fast-paced environment. - Proficient user of ERP (SAP preferred but not essential). - A degree in a relevant subject is preferable but not essential. - Experience of Sales & Operations Planning processes is preferable but not essential. - Strong analytical and problem solving skills. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Strong collaboration skills. - Strong customer service skills. - High degree of flexibility and adaptability to work calmly under pressure.
