About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join a friendly team working within our Central region and based at our office in Solihull on a permanent basis. The purpose of the role will include:
* Works with consultants for civil and structural designs ensuring all information is available and suitable for use in tendering, production, and procurement of technical consents.
* Liaising with the NHBC to ensure that all the appropriate standards are in place preconstruction have been met, and throughout the project ensuring all conditional items are concluded satisfactorily.
* Able to interpret geo-technical reports and make recommendations.
* Be capable of preparing initial stage designs and constraint plans at the early stages – working closely with Land to ensure smooth handover of information.
* Good understanding of the process for procuring new utility proposals.
* Fully understand the CDM regulations and demonstrate a working knowledge.
* Resolve engineering issues as part of planning applications – managing consultants in road, sewer, levels, cut and fill designs, to satisfy planning whilst maintaining the most competitive and practical solutions.
* Ensure compliance with NHBC building regulation standards managing consultants of foundations and plot drainage.
* Monitor and resolve CML issues during construction phases to ensure timely completion of plots.
* Ensuring the appropriate availability of information for site planning, prestart and planning meetings.
* Ensuring all engineering drawings and details are available and have been checked, in advance of start on site including foundations, sub-structure, highways, sewerage, utilities and any remediation proposals.
* Procure technical approval for highways/sewerage/land drainage/utilities.
* Input and review ESG specifications and solutions and site-specific environmental and SHE requirements.
* This role will attend site meetings/client meetings as required and undertake regular site visits to provide the construction team with expert support.
About You
* You must have an excellent design ability.
* Detailed technical knowledge of planning, technical, civil engineering, and building construction is essential.
* You will have experience in Public Authority and Utility requirements together with associated legislation within the construction industry.
* Previous experience in delivering private and affordable projects and managing a number of complex developments concurrently.
* Must have experience in dealing with customers both internal and external.
