Numeracy Support Assistant
Location: Chorley, Lancashire.
Position: Full-Time Numeracy Support Assistant (KS2)
Hours: 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour

Role Overview:
As a Numeracy Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the mathematical skills of children in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11). Working closely with class teachers, you will provide targeted support in areas such as arithmetic, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning. Your efforts will be crucial in helping students build confidence and competence in numeracy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist students in developing numeracy skills through one-on-one and small group sessions.
2. Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective mathematics lessons.
3. Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and adjusting support strategies as needed.
4. Create a positive and encouraging learning environment, helping students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
5. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent and integrated numeracy support across the curriculum.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
2. A good understanding of numeracy development in Key Stage 2.
3. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
4. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.
5. Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or mathematics are desirable.
