Main duties of the job
This post is to provide clinical leadership, management, specialist support, and expert advice within the field of emergency care for both adults and paediatrics. The post holder will provide professional leadership and management to all accountable staff, including recruitment, appraisal, continuous professional development, and disciplinary matters to provide a patient-focused service. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will assist in the development of new protocols and pathways to enhance the emergency-led service for both adults and paediatrics, acting as a highly specialised role model and leader for all members of staff. The post holder will lead and line manage the nursing teams for both adults and paediatrics and will be responsible for the daily operational running of services across sites providing emergency care. They will support the Divisional Director of Nursing and other members of the multidisciplinary team and hold responsibility for designated nursing budgets. They will also ensure that key quality and safety metrics are met for emergency care.
