Infrastructure Security Engineer – 9-month Contract - Remote
My customer has recently undertaken a business-wide security review and as such is now looking for an Infrastructure Security Engineer to put into practice a number of recommendations.
The ideal Infrastructure Security Engineer will have an extensive background in Infrastructure before moving towards the security side. The Infrastructure Engineer would have strong Cyber Security expertise and a deep understanding of both on-prem and cloud (Azure) environments. The key to this role will be an understanding of wider infrastructure security principles as opposed to knowledge of specific tools. The ability to think critically about Infrastructure Security and apply that knowledge to specific requirements is essential.
The Infrastructure Security Engineer would work remotely (occasional visits to a central London office required) for the 9-month engagement.
Key Areas of Experience:
1. Previous experience as a Security Engineer/Security Consultant/Cyber Security Engineer with a strong Infrastructure background.
2. Extensive experience in selecting, deploying, and supporting security tools.
3. Strong expertise in Azure Infrastructure Security and configurations.
4. Solid understanding of Windows settings, security features, and capabilities.
5. Capable of managing project lifecycles, including setting technical milestones and maintaining project reporting standards.
6. Familiar with formalized change management processes and disaster recovery.
7. Proficient in reviewing security technical assessment reports and implementing remediation plans.
8. Basic experience in migrating or deploying cloud-based solutions, preferably on Azure Cloud.
9. Good knowledge of O365 and the MS Defender platform.
10. Proven skills in enterprise networking and protocols.
11. Experienced with Windows OS, Server 2012 upwards.
12. Proficient in Managed Active Directory / Group Policy, with the ability to troubleshoot AD and perform policy rollouts.
13. Strong skills in vulnerability management, including assessing business risks and impacts.
14. Familiar with VMWare and Hyper V solutions.
15. Good knowledge of Linux.
This Infrastructure Security Engineer role would be fully remote (occasional visits to a central London office required).
