A lady in her early 40s with diabetes and fibromyalgia requires a Personal Assistant to support her with everyday tasks. She suffered a spinal cord stroke some time ago and struggles with all her daily living needs. Mobility is very poor, and she experiences large bouts of fatigue coupled with constant pain. She has a 10-year-old child and requires someone who can form good relationships with both her and her child.
Duties will include:
1. Support with meal preparations
2. Light housework
3. Support with personal care and showering
4. Assistance with shopping, which may include putting food away after delivery
The candidate must be reliable and trustworthy and able to form good relationships due to the nature of the role.
A genuine occupational requirement for a female worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency.
DBS/reference checks will be required for this post, with the cost to be met by the local authority.
