On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Product Manager for a 12 Month (Inside IR35) contract based hybrid role 2 days in London.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK's biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers.

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager, confident working in a complex environment and able to lead their delivery team to drive the best outcomes for our users and the taxpayer.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Own the vision for the product, working with stakeholders to ensure strategic fit and engaging the development team to maintain alignment and buy in.
2. Develop the product strategy and manage the product roadmap as well as prioritising the product backlog through a range of techniques to maximise value and return on investment.
3. Identify and communicate user needs and stakeholder requirements to the development and delivery team.
4. Define product goals and metrics, monitoring performance against outcomes.
5. Manage, influence and negotiate stakeholder relationships and communicate progress and achievements, championing the product within the department.
6. Ensure the product is developed to an appropriate level of quality.
7. Support the professional development of associate Product Managers in your area.
8. Be an active participant in the Product Management Community.
Experience:
1. Experience of working across department or functional boundaries. Able to communicate vision and generate stakeholder buy-in.
2. Experience of working alongside users, articulating their needs and communicating this across the relevant stakeholder and team.
3. Ability to make effective decisions with incomplete information using a variety of techniques.
4. Ability to prioritise backlogs based on user needs, business values and expected return on investment.
5. Experience of delivering outcomes on one or more components/features successfully.
6. Experience of creating and communicating a product roadmap and acting upon challenge from stakeholders.
7. Experience of developing products using iterative techniques, working in a multi-disciplinary team.
