The Department Store Janitorial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the store, ensuring a pleasant shopping environment for customers. This role involves cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and other store areas, as well as managing waste disposal and maintaining cleaning supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clean and sanitize store floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing as needed.
2. Maintain cleanliness in customer areas, including aisles, fitting rooms, and checkout stations.
3. Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring all supplies are available and the area remains sanitary.
4. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with store policies.
5. Clean store windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to ensure they are free from smudges and streaks.
6. Perform routine maintenance on cleaning equipment and report any issues to management.
7. Restock and manage cleaning supplies to ensure availability.
8. Assist with cleaning spills or accidents promptly to avoid safety hazards.
9. Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work preferred.
2. Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
4. Good communication skills to interact with store staff and management.
5. Physical ability to lift, carry, and move cleaning equipment and supplies.
6. Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
1. This position requires working during store hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the store's schedule.
Employment Type: Part-Time
