A tutor takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.
Have you been looking for a flexible role working with children?
Do you have what it takes to help alleviate the challenges that students with SEMH needs may experience within education?
Do you currently live in or around Peterborough?
We are currently seeking a collaborative and understanding tutor local to Peterborough who is eager to provide additional tutoring support for a student who needs some assistance building confidence and coming out of her shell.
The support would be for a 10-year-old girl who struggles with a few SEN and SEMH needs such as Nooman syndrome and ASD due to her sensory issues as she sometimes struggles in busy environments which has caused her to drop behind slightly in her studies and become slightly nervous to attend school.
She is an extremely determined and family-orientated girl with a hugely creative side. Her and her family are very friendly and supportive.
Initially, we would like you to spend some time with her focusing on arts and crafts to build trust and rapport with her and then once this is formed, academia can be incorporated gradually into sessions. We feel that she may benefit more from reducing her anxieties towards studies at first.
Ideally, we would want you to deliver the support in their home in PE16 as they feel this is where she is likely to be most comfortable, but if you prefer we can arrange a neutral venue close to their home instead.
The hours for the role would be 6-9 hours a week worth of tuition between Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm. Once this lovely assignment ends we can offer you more flexible tuition work with us.
We are keen to hear from experienced tutors, educators with experience working with students with complex needs, PGCE and QTS Teachers who are looking for a more flexible and balanced work-life balance. Ideally, you will have your DBS on the update service, or be willing to acquire one (we will pay for the initial DBS application).
What we offer you:
1. Flexibility to manage your own timetable and workload
2. GBP30 hourly rate to reward you for your dedication to supporting this lovely girl.

4. Free e-learning training modules
5. Opportunity for school holiday tuition delivery
6. Access to an online tuition delivery platform
