We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of an Environment Enforcement Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £18.11 - £23.54 per hour Responsibilities: To manage a complex case load, responding to complaints from the public or working proactively to identify and tackle enviro-crimes. To deliver this work with the minimum of supervision To be responsible for the strategic development and long term business planning of the team, business unit, division and department inline with council priorities To be responsible for income generation and achieve set targets To review and monitor performance and quality of services in accordance with the Councils visions and values To create and lead effective partnerships with other key agencies including the Police, HMRC, London Fire & Rescue Brigade to deliver a multi-partnership response to the issue of anti-, environmental crime. Qualifications &Experience: Level 2 educational attainment Experience and a detailed knowledge in one or more areas of local authority regulation and enforcement. Experience of providing advice and guidance within the field of enviro-crime enforcement. Experience of leadership and of management on significant projects and issues. Experience providing an enforcement service in an inner city, multi-cultural Environment An understanding of the Councils approach to equalities and fairness and how to apply this to the duties and responsibilities of the post. Experience identifying and investigating breaches of a range of Environmental Crimes legislation and taking appropriate action Experience presenting evidence for prosecution in court and or tribunal Experience of working, engaging, and influencing senior managers and elected members Experience of working with a range of partners or stakeholders to deliver service objectives. Experience of preparing reports, statements, schedules, or other documents for legal proceedings. Experience of organising and prioritising conflicting work tasks to achieve targets within specified time scales. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
