Job Summary
We are looking for highly skilled Speech & Language Therapist to manage and lead the Paediatric service here in Powys Teaching Health Board. We are offering a permanent 1.0 whole time equivalent position. Full time and part time hours will be considered.
You will be responsible for managing, leading and developing the paediatric service here in Powys. We are a friendly team who welcomes passion, patient centred initiatives and evidence-based practice. We are seeking a strong clinical lead and aspiring manager, who has a clear vision to implement service improvement projects, manage staff and support the delivery of our community Speech and Language Therapy service.
You will be responsible for day-to-day line management of staff, implementation of service improvement projects and All Wales pathways, and ensuring the team deliver a high quality, efficient and effective service to the children and young people in Powys.
Powys Teaching Health Board Speech and Language Therapy department is a friendly and compassionate team who are passionate about providing a high-quality service despite the geographical challenges.
The base for this post is negotiable and will be agreed at appointment to one of our hubs in Newtown or Brecon.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the operational management and delivery of the paediatric speech and language therapy service.
To contribute to the departments audit and training plans, and workforce and succession planning.
To manage key performance indicators such as RTT and ALN compliance within paediatric speech and language therapy.
To be responsible for clinical governance issues including risk assessments, investigating incidents and resolving complaints.
Develop and improve service pathways to ensure the service is offering a high quality, efficient and effective service.
Identify training needs of the Speech and Language Therapy staff, carers, and other professionals, and to develop training as required.
