Working Pattern: Our working style is hybrid, but we recognise the importance of collaborative working with our colleagues often 1 to 3 days per week in one of our offices.

You and Your Team:
The Credit Risk team is responsible for all aspects of credit decisioning for the Credit Card product.
As a Lead Analyst, you will develop, implement, and monitor the credit strategies for products within Vanquis Banking Group, leading data-driven analysis and the delivery of key initiatives to drive value for the Bank. You will work with teams across the business to support the optimisation of our lending strategies, scorecards and credit risk monitoring to ensure we minimise losses while expanding opportunities.
In your day-to-day role, as a Lead Analyst you will:
* Develop optimised credit risk strategies to deliver positive outcomes for customers and support business and financial objectives.
* Investigate and utilise new data sources for analysis and decisioning.
* Balance risk, reward, and responsible lending to support business growth and portfolio profitability.
* Ensure accurate and appropriate lending decisions through close tracking and monitoring.
* Conduct innovative analysis and provide logical recommendations for customer and business benefits.
* Automate and streamline processes for integration, effectiveness, and efficiency.
* Provide insight through targeted analysis, forecasting, and regular MI development.
* Lead departmental projects autonomously, ensuring compliance with risk management frameworks.
* Contribute to and challenge working practices constructively.
* Oversee or peer-review team changes, directing day-to-day work of Analysts/Senior Analysts as needed.
* Deputise for the manager as required.
* Support testing and delivery of changes to models, policy, and strategy.
* Operate a robust test and learn approach, adjusting based on performance expectations.
* Identify and resolve issues quickly, capturing lessons learned and introducing preventative controls.
What will make you stand out?
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in an analytical role.
* Clear, logical, and analytical approach to problem-solving.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Advanced proficiency in SAS/SQL.
* Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications.
* Good influencing and communication skills.
* Challenges conventional approaches.
* Experience in a regulated environment.
Further desirable skills:
* Knowledge of other relevant programming/analytical tools such as R, Python, Hadoop, Tableau.
* Understanding of decisioning systems (e.g. Powercurve, Zoot).
The interview process:
* Up to 30 minute telephone call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team.
* Up to 60 mins with the hiring team - Competency based.
* Final interview with Daniel Betts (Head of Credit Risk).
