Would you like to further develop your skills, knowledge and experience? An exciting opportunity has arisen for two roles within the SEND team for Senior Caseworker to support the SEND statutory assessment and monitoring team. Please see attached job description for details of the specific role.

Responsibilities include:
1. Liaising with providers of childcare, education, or vocational provision to source appropriate placements for children and young people with EHCP.
2. Providing advice and support to parents and Educational Settings about SEND Code of practice procedures, and how to request an assessment of need and suitable provision in an EHCP to meet identified needs.
3. Leading on key service priorities within an identified allocated area to ensure statutory timeframes are met.
4. Coordinating a person-centred, outcome-focused multi-agency approach to assessment, planning, and support, ensuring that young people and parents are treated as equal partners in the assessment and planning process for the co-production of EHCPs.
5. Acting as the main caseworker to children and young people allocated to your caseload who require a SEND needs assessment and/or EHCP.
6. Acting as the Named Officer and main point of contact for named settings, schools, colleges, and specialist institutions attended by children and young people with SEND who are residents of Cheshire East Council.
7. Attending multi-agency co-production meetings, chairing the meetings as needed.
8. Analysing and evaluating educational, medical, social care, and psychological advice and other relevant information and reports collected under the statutory assessment of a child's or young person's special educational needs and making balanced, outcome-focused service delivery recommendations.
9. Meeting with children and young people, their parents, and carers to discuss and resolve issues relating to SEND support decisions, including where necessary formal mediation, and directing families and young people to Independent Advice and Support or advocacy services as needed.
