Annual Salary: £35,745- £40,221 pro rataHours: 22 hours per weekContract: Fixed Term (30th November 2027)Location: Nidderdale National Landscape Office in Pateley Bridge Nidderdale National Landscape (NNL) in partnership with Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is looking for a talented and committed individual to lead our Grasslands Project. This new role is an opportunity to make a real conservation difference at a landscape scale. You will be working on a wide range of grassland sites, from hay meadows to village greens, with landowners, partner organisations and community groups. You will be able to spot opportunities and drive the improvement of the condition and connectivity of grassland sites, including the reintroduction of rare plants. The role will suit someone with ecology and/or land management knowledge who can work independently to develop close working relationships and influence and provide clear conservation advice. It would be an advantage to have a good understanding of current environmental land management schemes and an interest in regenerative agriculture. The project officer will be responsible for the operational delivery of both ecological activity and public engagement. This will include grassland surveys, writing management plans, landowner liaison, managing contractors and volunteers, and running training and events. You will be based at Nidderdale National Landscape Office in Pateley Bridge where you will be part of a team who work on natural and cultural heritage projects with a wide range of partners. You’ll also work closely with YDMT colleagues and from time to time will need to travel to YDMT offices near Settle. We offer hybrid and flexible working.
