Main duties of the job

As one of 15 Health Innovation Networks across England we connect and support the NHS and social care, academics, industry and other key stakeholders to bring fresh energy to old problems, inspired thinking to new ones and to adopt innovative solutions and practice at scale.

Job description
Job responsibilities
1. Provide advanced health economics and analytical services to clients.
2. Business development, including developing proposals and bids to meet client project briefs for new business opportunities and services.
3. Develop economic models to inform decisions on the efficient allocation of resources available to healthcare providers and communicating these insights to a variety of stakeholders.
4. Plan and undertake economic modelling on clinical and economic outcomes to provide results that inform decisions about clinical practices and health-care resource allocations.
5. Understand stakeholder perception as part of building the evidence base for specific health technologies, products, and services.
Person Specification
Qualifications / training required
Essential
* Professionally qualified or a relevant degree, plus significant project or programme management experience or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
* Educated to MSc level or equivalent in Economics, Health Economics or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience.
* Knowledge of the specialist work practices and/or professional guidelines relevant to the Health Innovation Wessex's area.
Previous or relevant experience necessary
Essential
* Knowledge and experience of the NHS and local health and social service functions.
* Experience of using statistical packages and an understanding of Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence.
* Considerable experience of applying techniques from health economics disciplines and specialist analytical disciplines in healthcare settings.
* Experience of working closely with others to specify project analysis and outputs.
* Experience in evaluating projects.
Aptitudes and skills required
Essential
* Knowledge of and ability to translate issues, trends, and opportunities for delivering improved health and care services in the relevant programme area.
* Effective leadership, management and team building skills.
* Well-developed influencing skills across hierarchies and disciplines demonstrated through representation of influencing, negotiating and presentation activities.
* Experience of planning and organising the development and implementation of new initiatives and activities within specialist area of work.
* Ability to exercise judgement in developing, implementing, and revising programme plans.
* Ability to analyse and present project findings and engage with partner organisations in supporting projects.
* Ability to represent the organisation at external meetings, workshops, and events.

* Budget preparation and management experience, evidence of effective budgetary control skills.
