Job summary We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our busy, friendly reception team. The ideal candidates will ideally have some reception experience and be capable of multi-tasking as you will be assisting patients both on the telephone and face to face. You will be the first point of contact for all patients. You will be motivated, hard-working, enthusiastic, professional at all times, friendly and flexible. Main duties of the job You will be expected to receive, assist and direct patients either in person or via phone in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently handled. Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented (where required) and redirected accordingly. Book, amend and cancel patient appointment in line with practice appointments procedures ensuing optimum efficiency of the appointment system. Be available to work 4-5 days with varying shift patterns Deal with patient queries which may include liaising with other medical professionals. Ensure all tasks sent by GPs and admin staff are dealt on timely basis Ensure clinical rooms, reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy and equipped. Keep up to date with mandatory training.
