The Permanency and Pathways Team support all of Flintshires Looked After Children who have a care plan of permanent care arrangement agreed either within the Court process or on an occasional voluntary basis. We are currently looking for two experienced social workers to join the team at an exciting time whilst we continue to develop our in-house residential services and transform the way our services for children and families are delivered.
The Local Authority has a responsibility to care for children subject to a Care Order until they are of an age they can exit the care system, post eighteen plus. The Permanency Team works congruently within the statutory framework of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act and alongside other legislation such as the Leaving Care Act 2000.
The Team is also responsible for managing the When I am Ready, a post eighteen service which allows care leavers to remain in the home of a foster carer up to the age 21, acknowledging that most young adults are not equipped to leave home at age 18.
