Regulatory Reporting Accountant– AIB UK

What is the Role:
UK Finance is one of the core support and control functions for AIB UK and is responsible for a number of key activities: Treasury and Asset & Liability Management (ALM), Business Partnering and External Reporting.
The External Reporting team plays a fundamental role in delivering on the banks reporting requirements to shareholders and regulators. The unit comprises Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) Reporting.
Reporting to the Regulatory Reporting manager in the UK External Reporting team within AIB UK Finance, this role is an opportunity to play a significant part in meeting AIB strategic objectives ,and is an unique opportunity to gain experience in delivering regulatory reports to support our banking licence, customers and communities.
Key accountabilities;
* Responsible for production and review of monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory reports in line with reporting deadlines.
* Responsible for interpreting new and existing regulatory reporting requirements, for their application onto regulatory reporting systems.
* Ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained and that both internal & external customer requirements are addressed to the highest standards and within agreed timelines.
* Responsible for controls and reconciliations that are within remit of the relevant role, ensuring that operational risk is minimised.
* Participate in projects and initiatives so as to optimise processes thereby delivering efficiencies. Analyse and exploit the Enterprise Data Warehouse to achieve reporting efficiencies.
* Participate in business projects and change initiatives as they arise, proposing workable business solutions where relevant, to ensure liquidity requirements are met.
* Build and maintain collaborative working relationships, in particular with Dublin based central finance teams in AIB Group.
What you Will Bring ;
1. Third level degree, preferably in business / finance / accounting or a discipline evidencing solid numeracy.
2. A relevant professional financial qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CFA), ideally with 1-3 years’ experience working in a finance or finance reporting role.
3. Regulatory reporting experience e.g. Statistical Returns
4. Banking experience with understanding of bank’s business model, products and reporting suite.
5. The ability to analyse and interpret data, to assess its value and to present the findings to the relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise way.
6. Results driven individual with ability to problem solve, manage competing priorities and to deliver against tight deadlines.
7. Strong core business skills including stakeholder management, communication and influencing and managing & developing others.
