We are currently looking for a Band 7 nurse to work 5 days a week. The service operates primarily from 9am until 5pm on weekdays excluding bank holidays. This is an exciting time to apply for this role as the team begins its journey as one IPC team covering both acute and community services as part of the merger with the newly formed organisation, Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust.
You will join a fully established joint team which will comprise of Consultant Microbiologist/IPC Doctor, Chief Nurse/Director of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Deputy Chief Nurse/Deputy Director IPC, 5 IPC nurses, audit and surveillance nurse, Face Fit Tester, IPC Data Manager and an IPC Administrator.
We have a full and comprehensive annual work and audit program and are committed to working towards zero tolerance of all healthcare associated infections.
The Trust is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven individual with a keen interest in IPC. You must have excellent communication skills, the ability to work autonomously as well as part of the team. Leadership and organisational skills are also key attributes that are essential for this role. The post holder will be responsible for line managing the junior members of the team, providing highly specialised advice to clinicians, staff and managers on IPC issues, and supporting the Nurse Consultant for IPC with the delivery of the IPC work plan.
Community healthcare is personalised care that helps people to retain their independence. It’s the NHS at its best and the difference you make is truly tangible.
Our colleagues often describe us as a family, and we know how important that sense of belonging and support is when you start a new job. It’s simple - happy, engaged staff provide better services. In 2018, we were named ‘Best Place to Work for Employee Satisfaction’ by the Nursing Times. The same year, we won the Workforce category at the HSJ Awards. In the latest NHS Staff Survey results 2020, we had the best response rate among community trusts nationally.
We are the top community trust in the country on the theme Quality of care for the third year. We had the highest percentage of staff who felt they are able to deliver the care they aspire to and are satisfied with the quality of care they give to patients or service users.
As an NHS Trust, we strongly encourage and support vaccination uptake as this remains the best line of defence against respiratory viruses and other communicable diseases.
