Manual Machinist - 6-Month Contract

?? Location: Fareham (Fully On-Site)
?? Pay Rate: £16.94 per hour
? Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM | Friday, 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Flexible Hours After Training)
?? OT & Shifts Available
?? Contract: 6 months, potential for extension/permanent


Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team in Fareham. The primary focus of this role is manual turning, swagging, and universal grinding while ensuring high-quality precision work.


Key Responsibilities:

? Manual turning with tight tolerances using a lathe
? Additional machining tasks and intricate work as required
? Second operation activities such as deburring
? Housekeeping, Lean 6S, and maintenance activities


What We're Looking For:

? Apprentice-trained manual machinist or ONC (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering
? Ability to work independently on manual lathes and swagging techniques
? Proficient in reading engineering drawings and inspecting own work
? Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
? Awareness of Health & Safety in a machine shop environment
