EU WHS Program Manager, EU WHS Programs Team
EU ATS WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) team is seeking a WHS Manager to support the field team in playing a critical role in creating, implementing, and reviewing WHS programs (standards, procedures and best practices) and improvement projects. The successful candidate will work across teams to gain alignment, develop, and execute a common plan across multiple stakeholders. This requires working effectively with all business owners to ensure the delivery and execution of WHS programs. Cross-team coordination, project management, and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are essential.
To work effectively in the role, the candidate would be required to develop a deep understanding of the organization’s commitment to serving the associates, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in the organization in order to solve complex business problems and implement fit-for-purpose programs to deliver the highest standards. The successful candidate is also one that has a record of accomplishment delivering success in high performing business organizations, and one who has program management experience.
An ideal candidate has a background in WHS, and is willing to apply his knowledge to new fields. By leveraging lean principles and Kaizen, the candidate will lead continuous projects as well as improvement initiatives. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and data analysis.
This job will also require the ability to work independently in a high pressure environment and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist. This job will require exceptional communication and influencing skills with Business, Operations, and Tech stakeholders. The successful candidate will be proficient at solving complex logistics challenges and possess a bias for action to get things done and deliver results.
Key job responsibilities
1. Lead and deliver medium to large, cross-functional SAFETY programs that serve major parts of the business. These may also be global in nature.
2. Develop, review, approve and improve internal policies and procedures in the respect of the countries WHS legal and Amazon Global Standards requirements.
3. Implement and track WHS programs and provide execution support to field operations.
4. Drive WHS programs and best practice standardization at both Regional and Global level.
5. Recommend improvements to programs scoping, building, testing and deployment across the company.
6. Partner with key stakeholders such as RME, Procurement, Learning and Development etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience leading process improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
