Why join our talented team: As we continue to create breakthroughs at the forefront of technology, we are looking for a Management Accountant to play an integral role in the delivery of high-level support during the next phase of our growth. Reporting to the Finance Manager and working with other senior internal stakeholders, you will assist across all financial activities including preparation of project and management accounts, reporting and analysis, managing the cash flow and payments. This is an excellent opportunity to work with various stakeholders and be involved in multiple strands across the business. What you will do:
1. Participate in the day-to-day financial activities, such as invoicing, expenses, payroll, and bookkeeping
2. Preparation of monthly project and management accounts
3. Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
4. Preparation and posting of accruals and prepayments
5. Support the finance function with budget and cash flow management as part of the payments and procurement process
6. Supporting the month-end close process
7. Developing and managing project budgets
8. Forecasting project costs and revenues
9. Manage project-related payment processes, such as ordering equipment
10. Tracking project expenditures and ensuring compliance with budgets
11. Identifying and assessing financial risks associated with projects
12. Collaborating with project teams and other stakeholders
13. Liaise with internal stakeholders, including engineering, product, project management and senior management alongside the finance function to gather necessary information required for funding claims and the month-end process
What we are looking for:
1. Part qualified or qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years experience
2. Experience with Xero is desirable
3. Educated to degree level or equivalent
4. Excellent numerical skills, and advanced Excel skills
5. Strong demonstrable experience of financial and accounting tools and software
6. Excellent planning and organisational skills, and a high attention to detail
7. Excellent IT skills (MS Office, Google Workspace), with the ability to grasp a variety of platforms and systems quickly
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and solid writing skills
9. Experience working in an Engineering/Technical environment is desirable
10. Experience working in a start-up is desirable
