Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Team Manager, Swindon Borough Council, Childrens Placements Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The responsibilities will include:
1. To manage a small Placements Team of social workers, placement officers and business support.
2. To play a key leadership role in the Brokerage Team Project to achieve the development of the new team.
3. To determine priorities, assess need, safeguard children and provide positive placements to promote positive outcomes in line with national standards, working closely and collaboratively with other areas of children’s services, partner and other external agencies.
4. To ensure effective monitoring of the quality of placements.
5. To maintain strong professional relationships with external providers to ensure high quality, stable placements that are value for money.
6. To provide high support and high challenge to colleagues to ensure children are in the right placement in a timely way.
7. Liaise with other professionals.
8. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
9. 3 month Temporary Contract.
10. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
