About The Role
Team - Actuarial - Health
Working Pattern - Hybrid - 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth Office. Full time, 35 hours per week.
What this role is all about:
As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will be supporting various actuarial reporting requirements such as capital, valuation, reserving and profitability.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in key actuarial areas, develop technical skills, and contribute to the financial stability and strategic decision-making of Vitality. You would be supporting Actuarial Analysts in their development.
Key Actions
Implement the Actuarial Control Cycle:
1. Data Management:
o Identify and define data.
o Manipulate, adjust and analyse data.
o Create or define processes.
2. Modelling:
o Build appropriate models or develop pre-existing ones.
o Identify, document and understand the implications of key assumptions used in models.
o Identify and quantify risks and opportunities.
o Define solutions, recommending the most appropriate.
3. Reporting:
o Validate results with knowledge of business/ external environment.
o Monitor and explain results and identify and implement improvement opportunities.
Distil and Communicate Information to Stakeholders:
1. Understand stakeholder needs and requirements.
2. Collaborate independently with senior stakeholders, address unforeseen issues.
3. Create new presentations, present results, take challenge and feedback.
4. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Build and Transfer Skills and Knowledge:
1. Participate in and seek out learning opportunities.
2. Apply learnings effectively to work.
3. Share ideas and collaborate with colleagues to ensure best practice.
Manage Self:
1. Take full responsibility for work quality.
2. Maintain a can-do approach to find solutions and overcome challenges.

What do you need to thrive?
* Student or associate member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent.
* Working towards the completion of their actuarial qualification.
* Demonstrable experience in a working Actuarial Environment.
* MS Office skills: Excel intermediate, Word/PowerPoint basic.
