We are offering a rare and exciting career opportunity for an AHP Support Worker to join our Burns and Plastics Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team. You will work within a well-established multidisciplinary team providing clinical and administrative services to the burns and plastics in and out-patients. You will assist Clinical Specialist therapists in ensuring the timely and efficient provision of patient care within the wards, outpatients and within the patient’s home, delivering and assessing equipment under the supervision of the therapist. You will have the opportunity to manage your own patient workload independently and assist therapists daily in the provision of high-quality patient care. You will be expected to use initiative and deal with patient queries and general departmental issues via telephone and emails.
Your role will include a good balance of direct patient care and administration, such as ordering equipment and auditing numbers each month. We are a forward-thinking team that delivers high quality, complex care to the Burns and Plastics Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The AHP Support Worker role is paramount to its smooth running. This post will also allow you to evolve your audit skills and develop service improvement ideas. Some NHS experience would be desirable but not essential. Life and people skills are helpful. Informal visits are welcome to see the department and ward areas.
