We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our high performing engineering team. Based at our Poole site, this engineering apprenticeship will be focused on mechanical and electrical engineering but also give exposure to all aspects of the Engineering function. There is the potential for the role to diversify into Controls Engineering.
In this role you’ll be working with a friendly and committed team operating in a fast-paced environment, in a site where personal and food safety is paramount.
Key Accountabilities
The key responsibilities of this role will be:
1. Involved in preventative maintenance schemes, breakdowns repairs, site services and improvement projects with the aim of ensuring the safe running of the factory.
2. Gain an understanding of the key operational functions – milling, flour transportation, baking and packaging work within our factories.
3. Support the maintenance of production equipment.
4. Gain a good knowledge of our processes and equipment.
5. Develop skills to troubleshoot and fault find on plant equipment using tools and techniques throughout equipment lifecycle: commissioning, operations and routine maintenance.
The Right Person
The ideal candidate must be hands-on, logical, have a willingness to learn, and possess an understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance and improvement. A “can do” attitude and a proactive mindset alongside a genuine interest in continuously improving processes will be looked for in applicants for this opportunity. A commitment to self-study is necessary.
