The Grammar School at Leeds is seeking a passionate and proactive GSAL Owls Assistant Manager to join our after-school care provision (GSAL Owls), supporting children aged 3-11. In this role, you will make a significant impact on the development and daily management of GSAL Owls, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children. You will be responsible for stepping in and leading the provision in the absence of the Owls Manager. Your collaborative efforts will encompass various aspects, including contributing to the creation of a weekly program of creative play opportunities, overseeing resource management, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare. You will be a key driver in maintaining children's well-being by adhering to EYFS guidelines, managing individual needs, and fostering positive behaviour. Your dedication will also extend to safeguarding, health and safety, and building strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community. Additionally, your role will involve assisting with the registration processes and working closely with the Manager to provide essential training and development to the team. During the day, you will also support the early years team as a teaching assistant particularly over lunchtime and where additional cover is required. The successful candidate will have a relevant early years qualification at NVQ Level 3 or above. In addition you should have paediatric first aid training and basic food hygiene, or a willingness to learn. Ideally, you will also have experience in a similar setting of management of staff, or deputising.
