A Software Development Team Leader, who will help to coordinate and drive team efforts to deliver software solutions.
The Sports Content department is responsible for developing and enhancing our platforms for Partners, Extra, CTOOL, Help, Hub Pages, Offers, news and Responsible Gambling, which support the delivery of both customer facing and internal Business systems.
We operate as a full stack team with the core skills including C#, Typescript and Golang, but also cover SQL, .Net, MVC, Web API, Nodejs, HTML5 and CSS 3.
The day to day work is interesting, challenging and fast-paced amidst a hardworking and delivery focused Company ethos. We hire people with a broad set of technical skills who are ready to tackle some of technology’s greatest challenges.
This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Commercial experience with leading development teams in the delivery of high quality software applications.
* Passion for technology and software development processes and practices.
* Commercial experience in client or service side application development.
* Experience with Typescript, Golang or other server side technologies.
* Adaptable, with the ability to lead and ensure the best outcome for the Business.
* Degree educated in Computer Science or related discipline, or relevant professional experience.
* Experience of web accessibility.
* Strong knowledge of performance testing and service orientated architecture.
* Exposure to multiple software development methodologies.
* Experience with or exposure to Cloud technologies such as GCP, GKE or SAAS.
Main Responsibilities
* Assisting in driving the provision of a capable, reactive and motivated and delivery focused team.
* Enforcing governance of quality, rules, standards and processes ensuring solutions meet business needs.
* Ensuring the development process is conducted in a timely fashion.
* Planning and tracking works as prioritised by the product, project and development management.
* Gaining a good understanding of the technical structure, domain and architecture of the systems the team is responsible for.
* Identifying and mitigating risk.
* Removing blockers to delivery.
* Working through dependencies.
* Mentoring members of the team and ensuring distribution of knowledge.
* Inputting Developer appraisals and other performance feedback.
