About the Role
The Business Development Director will play a crucial role in managing and executing the company’s sales and marketing strategy in the UK. This position requires an individual with strong connections in the local retail sector and the ability to build long-term, profitable relationships. The ideal candidate will oversee market operations, identify growth opportunities, and implement strategic actions to enhance revenue and brand positioning.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the company’s products are widely available, well-positioned, and highly visible in the marketplace while driving sustainable and profitable revenue growth.
* Develop and implement sales plans aligned with the annual business strategy to increase market share, sales volume, and profitability.
* Translate the company's global goals into actionable, localized strategies tailored to the British retail landscape.
* Oversee business operations in the UK, analyzing performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with key retailers, clients, and business partners to maximize sales opportunities.
* Plan and manage short, medium, and long-term investments for the British market, ensuring expected ROI is achieved.
* Provide regular reports and insights to the company’s headquarters on market performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Requirements
Profile Requirements
* A proven track record in a pioneering, independent role, capable of establishing new business operations.
* Strong connections with key retailers in the UK, with a deep understanding of the local FMCG market.
* Minimum 12 years of experience in the FMCG industry, including at least 5 years in a management role.
* Fluent in English (both spoken and written);
* Strong ability to identify business opportunities and drive market penetration strategies.
* A strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and foresight into potential challenges.
* Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements, business planning, and performance analysis in the UK.
* A flexible and independent professional with strong personal integrity and leadership skills.
