An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit Healthcare Assistants to join our friendly and dynamic team on Medical Escalation at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford (PRH).
Medical Escalation is a 17 bedded ward at PRH, specialising in caring for general medical patients, many of whom are either acutely unwell or have complex medical needs. This is a rewarding and demanding role that requires commitment and a positive attitude.
We are a busy ward and some days have a fast turnover of patients, so being able to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
We are looking to recruit someone who is hard-working and kind to work alongside our nursing team. You'll be working collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team and contributing positively to the delivery of high quality, compassionate care. Good communication and interpersonal skills are key in addition to being able to role model professional standards. A caring and compassionate attitude is vital.
You will be supported with a period of induction and encouraged to pursue your interests through further training and development opportunities at the Trust.
• To work on and a flexible basis to support ward/department teams throughout the Trust delivering care.
• Monitoring patients and performing basic health check
• Serving meals and helping to feed patients
• Provide support to patients to maintain their hygiene needs. This may include actions such as:• Bathing/washing
• Care of mouth, hair, nails and eyes
• Provide support to maintain their elimination needs. This may include actions such as:• Encouraging continence
• Emptying urinary catheter bags
• Mobilising to toilet or use of commode or bedpan
• Maintaining hygiene needs after episodes of incontinence
