Main duties of the job
The University Hospitals of North Midlands is looking to recruit 2 x Estates Shift Maintenance Craftspersons trained to City & Guilds Craft Level or equivalent in mechanical or electrical maintenance on a permanent basis. You will be keen and enthusiastic, working with a skilled team to assist in the provision of a high level of service to a large acute hospital. Your duties will include the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the various engineering services and equipment on site during and outside normal working hours.
The salary is band 4, starting at a minimum of £25,147 per annum, rising to £27,596 over three years. In addition, you will receive a £3,000 recruitment and retention premium on top of your basic salary for the first 12 months, increasing to 16% thereafter. You will also receive unsocial hours payments and shift enhancements, which can typically add up to approximately £7,319 per annum on top of your basic salary, resulting in a possible gross annual income of £39,330 subject to any UHNM or NHS changes, hours worked, and bank holidays worked.
You will be stationed at County Hospital, working a shift rota on a 4-week cycle, but may be required to work at other sites belonging to or serviced by UHNM.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
* Recognised Apprenticeship or C&G/BTEC/NVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline
* Additional specialist training certification within engineering
Experience
* Proven substantial experience within engineering maintenance
* Maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical installations
* Previous experience within a Health Service context
