Department The School of Arts and Creative Technologies is a large, multidisciplinary School; Music is an important subject area within the School, with programmes that represent a broad range of approaches within the discipline. Role We seek a Lecturer in Piano Studies. The main responsibility lies in programme leadership, teaching and assessment on the MA Music Performance: Piano Studies. Some teaching and assessment at UG level may be required. The role holder will work on admissions to the programme and help to promote our teaching to potential students. Skills, Experience & Qualification needed PhD in Music in a field related to Piano Studies Extensive knowledge of piano performance and repertoire to design and develop teaching across different levels of academic activity Experience of delivering teaching in HE at undergraduate and postgraduate level, ideally with cohorts that include international students Evidence of successful planning and teaching design across a range of modules Ability to plan and prioritise own work in order to meet deadlines Positive attitude to colleagues and students Professional experience as a pianist would be an advantage Interview date : TBC For informal enquiries : please contact Professor Martin Suckling (martin.sucklingyork.ac.uk) The University strives to be diverse and inclusive – a place where we can ALL be ourselves.
