BAM UK & Ireland Division is recruiting an experienced Internal Communications Manager based out of any UK&I office on a 9-month FTC. BAM UK & Ireland consists of four core segments: Construction, Civils, Ireland and Ventures.

Your mission
Main responsibilities
• Liaise with key stakeholders, to build productive relationships, co-ordinating communication activity as well as preparing and issuing communications as required
• Support the Head of Internal Communication, to maintain and deliver communication and engagement strategy and plans
• To ensure employee communication activity is tracked and managed efficiently in a timely manner, appropriate for the target audience
• Support the management of current communication channels and creation and development of new channels
• Lead business topical campaigns such as Safe & Well, Making Possible and our Divisional Strategy
• Contribute creatively to the development of films and animations to bring our communications to life,, including storyboarding and script writing.
• Understand analytics and the importance of capturing data which helps us to demonstrate the effectiveness of our work.
• Work closely with your counterpart in our regional comms team to identify story opportunities and to write copy where required.
• Be recognised as a specialist in delivery of communication solutions and an all-round project manager with excellent attention to detail.
• Provide copywriting guidance and assistance to other members of the team. Help to align copy generated by other parts of the business with our tone of voice and to fit with our key themes.
Who are we looking for?
You will be a proven strategic internal communicator who can define, lead and execute internal communications to our colleagues across BAM UK & Ireland Division. A creative writer – someone who can turn their hand to develop creative content for our campaigns and engagement activities.
We need someone with a visual mindset who understands how to turn a story on paper into video, audio or animation, driving up views and increasing engagement with our digital channels.
You will have experience and knowledge of detailed engagement, internal communications and campaign delivery across multiple channels, focused on strategy and planning, but with the experience of execution and measurement.
You will enjoy the challenge of hunting down stories and have the tenacity and a determination to turn an idea into the finished product. Experience of working in construction and engineering would be a distinct advantage and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the subject is essential.
Subject/Sector Expertise
• Track record of being able to transform technical information into understandable and appealing copy for a wider audience of stakeholders.
• Ability to speak to senior leaders, understand a brief and to turn that into a deliverable communications plan or campaign.
• A clear understanding of the purpose of effective communications within a large organisation and the ability tell a story and take colleagues on a journey.
Experience of running large leadership events, from logistics to content creation.
• Degree or professional qualification in journalism or communications or similar relevant equivalent experience
• Experience of working in a communications role within a large and complex organisation, transforming technical information into engaging communications.
