Job Description:
About us.
We are The Very Group and we’re here to help families get more out of life. We know that our customers work hard for their families and have a lot to balance in their busy lives. That’s why we combine amazing brands and products with flexible payment options on Very.co.uk to help them say yes to the things they love. We’re just as passionate about helping our people get more out of life too; building careers with real growth, a sense of purpose, belonging and wellbeing.
About the Team.
In the Digital, Trading, Insights & Analytics team within Marketing you’ll play an important role in driving forward the measurement framework for marketing spend across the full marketing mix of channels. Managing the econometrics process from end to end, gathering and validation of the data inputs, ensuring the process runs smoothly and identifying any data issues, working alongside external supplier (Measure Monks) and media agency (Zenith) as well as internal teams.
About the role.
We are recruiting for a Marketing Optimisation Analyst within the Customer Planning team. Reporting to the Senior Planning & Optimisation Manager, this role will be responsible for driving action from analysis and recommendations provided to the marketing team. Your role will go beyond answering questions with analytics – you will begin to influence stakeholders and how best to use the insight you generate and how to best spend the marketing budget across media channels.
Working closely with the Performance Marketing, Brand Marketing, Commercial Finance and the Customer planning teams you will develop a detailed understanding of the effectiveness of our marketing spend through “econometrics” via external provider Measure Monks, proactively identify trends, understand drivers of performance and fuel the marketing teams with insight to improve business, customer and marketing performance.
Some of the key responsibilities are outlined below:
* Collaboration; working seamlessly with our wider Marketing team, Commercial Finance team and external agencies to identify the important questions and how best to answer them.
* Management of the data inputs, ensure this is delivered on time with a robust validation process in place, challenging / understanding any big swings in KPIs/spend/impression data inputs that need further investigation.
* Generate real, actionable insight that delivers tangible change to the way we market to our customers.
* Optimisation of our marketing activity and the appropriate levels of investment in each channel. Identifying areas to increase and reduce investment, and the resulting benefits.
* Working with all Marketing teams to ensure results from campaigns are correctly interpreted and learnings implemented into future activity.
* Management of partner relationships, in delivery of measurement outcomes, such as Measure Monks (external partner) and attribution (internal partner and/or external partner tbc) and media agency Zenith (external partner)
About you.
We are seeking a dynamic and analytical professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:
* A degree with a focus on Marketing or Market Research.

* Attention to detail and accuracy, with advanced Excel and modelling skills.
* SQL/SAS competence is a plus.
* Experience in Retail and/or Financial Services marketing, with knowledge of brand and performance KPIs.
* Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to present effectively to senior managers.
* Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
* A collaborative problem-solving approach and a curious mindset for data exploration.
* Strong analytical skills, high numeracy, and commercial acumen.
