Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 3 TA Qualification Required)
Location: WS3, Walsall
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM
Duration: Long-term position confirmed
Smile Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 student with high complex needs at a Walsall Primary School. This is a long-term role offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on a child's educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one support to a KS2 student with high complex needs and non-verbal communication.
2. Ensure the safety and well-being of the student, including managing climbing behaviors.
3. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement tailored learning strategies.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
1. Minimum Level 3 TA qualification.
2. Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
3. Strong understanding of supporting non-verbal students and managing complex behaviors.
4. Team Teach training is preferred; however, for strong SEN Teaching Assistants, we offer Team Teach training during the first week of September.
