This client is a fast-paced production facility and is looking to recruit a:
Mechanical Fitter / Welder
The Person:
1. A time served Fitter / Engineer / Welder or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent).
2. Significant experience in fault finding, repair of machinery, hydraulics, and other production-associated systems.
3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment.
4. Detailed relevant health and safety knowledge.
5. Able to attempt most aspects of mechanical engineering with little direction.
6. Understanding of aspects of pneumatics and hydraulics.
7. Competent using MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding equipment.
8. Using GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding) and SMAW (shielded metal arc welding) processes would be an advantage.
The Role:
1. General maintenance duties, proactive and reactive to ensure there is minimum downtime.
2. Communicate details of scheduled downtime to the Team Lead and the reasons, with solutions offered.
3. Participate in troubleshooting, problem resolutions, and continuous improvements.
4. Update KPI board promptly with relevant information to pass on to your work colleagues.
5. Carry out routine maintenance schedules to the maintenance schedule plan PPM.
6. Prioritise production stoppages over daily duties.
7. Installation work where required.
8. Follow a “clean as you go” work ethic in accordance with good manufacturing practice.
9. Identify improvements that can be made to production lines, individual machinery, or other operations and ensure these improvements are communicated to the relevant team.
10. Make Health & Safety a priority and take accountability for the safety of yourself and others including wearing appropriate PPE and following all Health & Safety procedures and guidelines.
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday - Days - 4 Day working week
Salary: £35,000pa with an Excellent Benefits Package
