DSEME's mission is to deliver effective and up-to-date technical training, ensuring that the Armed Forces are supported by skilled electronic and mechanical engineers. The school includes 8 Training Battalion REME, 4 School of Technical Training (RAF), and the REME Arms School. Additionally, the School of Army Aeronautical Engineering (SAAE) is located at MOD Lyneham. All these institutions train electronic, mechanical, and specialist trade personnel, as well as technical leaders and engineering managers for Defence.

Job description
As the Specialist Instructional Officer Physical Training (SIO - PT), you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive physical training programs. Your primary duties will include preparing and conducting both indoor and outdoor physical training sessions in accordance with the Army Physical Training Policy. This includes a variety of activities such as loaded marches, battle PT sessions, and obstacle course lessons. You will also organise and lead physical training tests, including the Soldier Conditioning Review (SCR) and the Role Fitness Test (RFT (S)). Additionally, you will provide induction training to new trainees and plan recreational training activities under the direction of the Master At Arms, a Commissioned Officer. Furthermore, you may be involved in Adventurous Training activities, ensuring a well-rounded physical training curriculum for all personnel. This role is suitable for individuals with Armed Forces experience, though it is not essential, or a background in an educational establishment, who understands the demands of complex and demanding physical training for a wide cohort of personnel.
