We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Principal Process Engineer based at Preston, with hybrid working available and an expectation to attend sites on a regular basis.
You will report directly to the R&D, and your role will be to provide high-quality Engineering Design services to help the company minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. To achieve this, the individual must coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking into account health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards related to the contract.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Produce cost-effective design layouts that meet the specifications and can be effectively constructed and commissioned. The term ‘cost’ encompasses all costs associated with the design and subsequent construction, including design time, material costs, erection costs, and the impact on other disciplines.
2. Ensure that standard practices are utilized wherever possible.
3. Provide estimates and feedback for the Proposals department.
4. Adhere to procedures and processes to ensure the ongoing development of the department.
5. Assist in developing, monitoring, and updating procedures and processes to facilitate the smooth operation of the department.
6. Coordinate designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT to ensure integrated design processes for the benefit of the entire contract.
7. Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
8. Ensure customer satisfaction by working within a culture that recognizes satisfying the customer as key to achieving other objectives, considering all beneficiaries of our processes.
9. Assist in supervising and developing staff.
10. Support the creation of a safe working environment for all staff.
11. Minimize waste from all departmental activities.
12. Ensure designs consider environmental issues.
13. Ensure that designs fully comply with all health and safety requirements.
